Kya Hum Akelay Hain? 120 Light-Years Door ek Planet Par Life Ke Signs Mile Hain|

Hum sabne kabhi na kabhi socha hai – Kya Earth ke alawa bhi Kahin Zindagi ho sakti hai? Mars ke methane ya Venus ke clouds mein phosphine gas ne hume pehle bhi excited kiya hai, lekin ab ek badi discovery hui hai – aur is baar focus hai ek door ke planet par k2 – 18b.

Kya Hai k2-18b?

Ye ek exoplanet hai jo Earth se 120 light years door hai. is planet ko 2015 mein kepler Space Telescope ke data se discover kiya gaya tha. Yeh planet ek “sub-Neptune” category ka hai – na bilkul rocky jaise Earth, na poora gas giant jaise Jupiter.

Cambridge University ke Dr. Nikku Mdhusudhan aur unki team ka kehna hai ki k2-18b ek “Hycean” planet ho sakta hai – yaani hydrogen filled aqtmosphere aur oceans wale planet.

Dimethyl Sulfide: Life Ka Signal?

Is study se pata chala hai ki k2-18b ke atmosphere mein ek khaas molecule mila hai – Dimethyl Sulfide. Earth par ye sirf zinda organisms, jaise ki marine algae, produce karte hain. Isliye ye molecule ek biosignature maana jaata hai – yaani aisa chemical jo life ke presence ka signal de sakta hain. James Webb Space Telescope ki madad se ye molecule pehli baar 2023 mein notic hua tha.

Scientistis ka Reactions

Dr. Madhusudhan ne kaha: “Hum premature claim nahi kar rahe ki wahan life hai, lekin ab tak ke date ke hisaab se ye strongest indication ho sakta hai ki k2-18b par ocean bhi hai aur life bhi.”

But baaki researchers abhi thoda cautions hain: “It’s a hint, not Proof.” Kehna hai Johns Hopkins ke scientist Stephen Schmidt ka. “Hum sure nahi hain ki ye planet sach mein habitable hai,” kuch aur scientists ka manna hai.

Aur Bhi Reserch Zaruri Hai

Scientists ka maan rahe hain ki k2-18b koi ocean world nahi, balki ek scorching hot planet bhi ho sakta hai – jisme magma aur dense hydrogen atmosphere ho. Lab mein experiments ki zarurat hai to check how DMS behaves under different conditions. Aur obserations bhi chahiye from Webb Telescope and future telescopes.

Budge cuts ka Darr

Ek concern ye hai ki agar NASA ka science budget cut ho gaya, jaise kuch reports keh rahi hain, to aisa research ruk sakta hai. astrobiologist Joshua Krissansen Totton ne warning di agar budget half ho gaya, to “search for life elsewhere would basically stop.”
