Sarkar ne income tax exemption ₹7 lakh se badhakar ₹12 lakh kyun kiya? FM Nirmala Sitharaman ne diya jawaab.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ne kaha ki sarkar ne sirf slab rate reductions tak seemit na rehkar kuch taxpayers ke liye ek extra rebate introduce kiya hai. Unka kehna hai ki taxpayers ke bache hue paise economy me wapas aayein—chahe wo consumption, savings ya investment ke roop me ho.
Unhone kaha, “Humne decide kiya ki kuch logon ko sirf slab rate reductions se zyada faayda milna chahiye, isliye ek extra rebate diya gaya. Slab rate reductions sabke liye hai, lekin extra rebate kuch taxpayers ke liye. Umeed hai ki taxpayers ke bache hue paise consumption, savings, ya investment ke zariye economy me wapas aayenge.”

Sitharaman ne Congress-era tax system se tulna karte hue kaha ki 2014 ke mukable aaj sarkar taxpayers ke haath me zyada paise chhod rahi hai.
Unhone kaha, “Agar aap 2014 ke Congress sarkar ke tax rates se aaj ka comparison karein, toh ye hamesha logon ke haath me zyada paise dene ki koshish rahi hai. Agar koi aadmi ₹8 lakh kamata hai, toh usko 2014 me ₹1 lakh tax dena padta tha, par ab usko ₹1 lakh bacha mil raha hai kyunki ab uska tax zero ho gaya hai. Isi tarah, ₹12 lakh kamane wale ko 2014 me ₹2 lakh tax dena padta tha, jo ab zero hai. Matlab uske paas ₹2 lakh zyada hai.”
Finance Minister ne yeh bhi kaha ki sirf ₹12 lakh tak kamane wale hi nahi, balki high-income earners bhi naye tax rates ka faayda utha rahe hain.

Unhone kaha, “Sirf chhoti income wale log nahi, balki bade income wale bhi faayda utha rahe hain. Agar koi ₹24 lakh kamata hai, toh 2014 me usko ₹5.6 lakh tax dena padta tha, lekin ab uska tax ₹3 lakh ho gaya hai. Matlab uske paas ₹2.6 lakh zyada bacha raha hai. Iska matlab yeh hai ki ₹12 lakh tak kamane wale taxpayers ko tax se chhoot mil rahi hai, lekin usse zyada kamane wale bhi is naye tax system ka faayda le rahe hain.”
