WHO Ke Ex-Chief Scientist Bolte Hain: HMPV Se Ghabrane Ki Zarurat Nahi, Precautions Zaroor Lijiye

New Delhi:Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) ke baare mein ghabrane ki zarurat nahi hai, yeh baat World Health Organisation ke former chief scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan ne kahi.

“Yeh ek jaana-pehchana virus hai jo respiratory infections cause karta hai, aur zyadatar mild hota hai,” unhone ek post mein kaha X par.

Dr. Swaminathan ne logon ko suggest kiya ki cold ke symptoms ke liye normal precautions lein, jaise mask pehnna aur haath dhona. Unka kehna tha, “Har naye pathogen ke detection se panic hone ke bajaye, jab cold ho toh normal precautions lein: mask pehnne, haath dhone, bheed se bachein, aur agar symptoms severe ho toh doctor se consult karein.”

Yeh reassurance tab aaya hai jab Karnataka aur Gujarat mein Monday ko teen infants HMPV positive paye gaye, jo India ke pehle reported cases hain.

Cases Ki Details
Teen cases mein se do cases Karnataka mein detect hue, jo Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) ne routine surveillance ke dauraan pakde. Kisi bhi patient ka international travel ka history nahi tha.

HMPV ek jaana-pehchana respiratory virus hai jo har age group ke logon ko affect kar sakta hai. Isne global attention tab li, jab iska outbreak China mein report hua.

Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda ne kaha ki health ministry virus ke China mein spread par nazar banaye hui hai. Unhone logon ka darr kam karte hue kaha ki yeh “ek naya virus nahi hai.”

Health ministry ne pehle yeh highlight kiya tha ki HMPV already globally circulate kar raha hai, including India. Is virus se associated respiratory illnesses pehle bhi alag-alag countries mein report ho chuki hain. Ministry ne yeh bhi clarify kiya ki India mein Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) ya Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) cases mein koi unusual surge nahi dekha gaya hai.

HMPV Ki Background
Pehli baar 2001 mein Netherlands mein discover hua, HMPV Paramyxoviridae family se belong karta hai. Yeh Respiratory Syncytial Virus se closely related hai. Yeh virus respiratory droplets ke through spread hota hai, jaise coughing ya sneezing, contaminated surfaces ko touch karne se, ya infected individual ke direct contact mein aane se.
